~ Synopsis ~
Cole Masten. Abandoned by his superstar wife, Hollywood’s Perfect Husband is now Hollywood’s Sexiest Bachelor: partying hard and screwing even harder. Watch out Los Angeles, there’s a new bad boy in town.
Summer Jenkins. That’s me, a small town girl stuck in Quincy, Georgia. I cook some mean chicken and dumplins, can bluff a grown man out of his savings in poker, and was voted Most Friendly my senior year.
We were from different worlds. Our lives shouldn’t have collided. But then Cole Masten read a book about my small town. And six months later, his jet landed on our dusty airstrip, and he brought Hollywood with him.
From the start, I knew he was trouble. For our town. And for me.
Sometimes, opposites just aren’t meant to attract.
Stand-alone Contemporary Romance.
I was so excited when I received an ARC of Hollywood Dirt, I nearly called into work so I could sit at home and devour it – but, I did the grown up thing and went in, tried to keep my Kindle in my purse, but it taunted me all day until I FINALLY made it home and dove right in – staying up until 2am and finishing it in one sitting. Because that’s how fucking good it was.
Like the synopsis says, Cole Masten is a superstar – one of which who is on the rebound, going through a very nasty divorce and fucking his way through most of Los Angeles trying to get over it.
Summer Jenkins is the polar opposite of Cole – down home, normal small town girl sifting through the troubles of her past and hoping she can find a way out of her one-horse town. When their lives come in contact when Cole is sent to Georgia a month earlier than scheduled to shoot a movie he’s backing himself, he and Summer don’t necessarily hit it off – she can barely stand the sight of him. Because if there’s something a good-ole’ southern woman hates more than anything? Bad manners.
Because Cole is all Hollywood – the good and bad of it and Summer, although see’s an escape when a job is offered – more money than she’s ever imagined, enough that would set her up somewhere else and afford any dream she’s had, and also take care of her mama, she has to decide if the money is enough to put up with Cole. Is any dollar amount enough to sacrifice your pride and happiness?
But as things develop – the chemistry between these two? Jesus – I’m sure my Kindle has imprints on the screen from how fast I was going through these pages to see what happened next. The banter – good lord, the things that come out of Summer’s mouth are both hilarious and etched in such a southern-back-bone kinda way, it made me fall in love with her every time her mouth opened. She gives Cole as good as she gets, and the fights these two get into are some of the best stuff I’ve read all year. Funny – Hot-as-Fuck and everything that makes a great romance novel.
The story builds – you’re not sure if things are actually going to work – just waiting for everything to blow up in their faces – the heat coming in waves as they slowly start to realize there is more than just chemistry working here – maybe even real honest to God feelings?
Summer isn’t a girl that will give her feelings away so easily – she holds them pretty close to her core, Cole’s not the only one that’s been hurt – Summer’s is just farther in the past than Cole’s still bubbling to the surface scandal. He doesn’t know who he can trust and Summer’s not wanting to give herself to a man who she’s not sure if she wants to punch or kiss.
Cole maybe Hollywood’s golden boy – loved by everyone, but Summer isn’t about to rise that pedestal he’s so used to, if anything she’ll kick it right out from under him and you’ll love every second of it.
If you like a feisty – tell it like it is – funny – carrying heroine who will do everything in her power not to be swept off her feat by America’s most sought-after actor?
Or if you love a Hollywood hunk that is seeking something that will give him a fraction of hope – reality and a good kick in the ass?
Then you will fall in love with Hollywood Dirt just like I did.
