Book 2 in Christina Lauren’s Wild Seasons Series
~ Synopsis ~
From the New York Times bestselling author of Beautiful Bastard, Beautiful Stranger, and Beautiful Player, Book Two of the brand-new Wild Seasons series that started with Sweet Filthy Boy—a story of friends, love, and lust.
Despite their rowdy hookups, Harlow and Finn don’t even like each other…which would explain why their marriage lasted only twelve hours. He needs to be in charge and takes whatever he wants. She lives by the Want-something-done? Do-it-yourself mantra. Maybe she’s too similar to the rugged fisherman—or just what he needs.
~ REVIEW ~
I don’t know how much more I can gush about these two – because honestly everything these two write is perfection – Christina Hobbs & Lauren Billings are the master minds behind the Beautiful Bastard Series, and now – The Wild Seasons Series and I’m completely in love with this new group of people. I’ll read anything these two write without even reading a synopsis – they’re a drop whatever you’re doing and read this, buy the audiobook and obsess about it for a few weeks until you just have to go back and re-read the first book so you can enjoy the 2nd that much more.
I tried to save this book instead of devouring it in a matter of hours. I managed to stretch it over 2 days, and listened to the audio book along the way because if you aren’t familiar with Sebastian York? Oh, you need to be…. seriously. He narrated for Will in Beautiful Player – as well as Bennett in Beautiful Bombshell and Beautiful Beginnings… and this elusive man’s voice? Pure fucking sex – he gave me the shivers more than once in all of these stories – but Finn’s? That rugged, prideful stubbornness that Finn embodies….. Sebastian York’s voice truly brought Finn to life.
We were introduced to Finn & Harlow in Sweet Filthy Boy
(if you haven’t read book 1 – skip on down, there may be spoilers.)
After their drunken night in Vegas, Harlow and Finn hook up, consummating their marriage only to have it annulled the next day. We all know Ansel & Mia’s story, but Harlow and Finn? Good lord…. In Sweet Filthy Boy – while Mia is away enjoying Paris for the summer, we get a glimpse that Harlow and Finn have another encounter – one that involves Harlow showing up at his house in Canada, wearing a trench coat and little underneath. They spend the night together and though the sex is amazing, Harlow is irritated that Finn sent her packing in a cab instead of driving her to the airport himself.
Fast forward a few weeks and Harlow barges into a coffee shop after one of the worst hook-ups of her life, having been rudely woken up by her suitor’s mother bringing him breakfast in bed. She’s exhausted, sexually frustrated and in desperate need of a caffeine fix – as well as a proper orgasm. When she’s feeling her worst – and not looking the best, she runs into the very man that gave her the last mind-blowing orgasm of her life – Finn. She’s confused, what’s Finn doing in San Diego? All the important questions start flooding her mind – why did she go home with that dill-hole last night? If she hadn’t she wouldn’t be at this Star Bucks – she’s be getting her usual large coffee across town at her her usual spot – and she wouldn’t be running into this rugged fisherman who worships her body like no other has before. She’s irritated and sexually frustrated and Finn can tell – one good look at her and he knows she’s had a night that left her completely unfulfilled…. and he has mixed feelings about that.
Finn Roberts – what is there to say about this man, he’s rugged – seriously, working on a fishing boat 18 hours a day his body is a fucking temple of muscles. He’s stubborn, prideful but giving, loving and loyal. Everything you could hope for in a partner. Sure, he has a hard time opening up even to his closest friends Oliver and Ansel, but Finn is a thinker – not opening up until he’s shuffled his deck more than once.
Harlow Vega? Sure, she’s grown up in an affluent family – her parents both in the movie business, but when something happens to rock her safe and comfortable home life she wants to run away and find a distraction that can keep both her mind and body busy – not dwelling on the fears swirling around in her head….. and lucky for her, Finn is in need of the same distraction.
These two are both going through very different things in their life – but affecting their families and livelihood. But they can’t seem to completely open up to each other, instead using each others bodies as a way to make it through – but like most of these situations feelings creep up and smack them both across the back of the head leaving them questioning everything that’s happened in their past and if there’s a possibility of a future.
Christina Lauren have written a very funny – hot-as-fuck story about two people that love as hard as they can, and protect what’s important to them. Watching these two develop was hilarious, sexy and leaving me sooooooooooo depressed that I have to wait until SEPTEMBER 2015 for Lola & Oliver’s story – Dirty Wild Night …. ARG! You’re killing me girls!
These two write men who are flawed in their own right – but who over come things, and sure it’s fiction and we read these books for enjoyment, but they have real life problems and there is a lot in this story I could relate too – I won’t lie, I shed a tear or two, maybe even three….

*MUPPET ARM FLAILING – FANGIRL MOMENT*
Out – 04/14/2015!
His arms strain against the cotton of his undershirt and it seems somehow to barely contain his biceps, the width of his chest. The way the T-shirt is smoothly tucked into the flat front of his black dress pants . . . sweet Jesus. He runs a warm palm up my stomach and spreads his giant hand across my ribs. “Snap?” “Shh, Poodle. I’m having a Johnny Castle, Dirty Dancing moment right now.” “Is this a good thing or a bad thing?” he asks, bending to lick up my neck. “I carried a watermelon.”
You could only do rowdy because he felt what I felt: that whip-crack unleashing that comes when you meet the person who frees you.
