So this year I only made a goal of 100 books on Goodreads – I’ve been in a reading funk off and on and even ignored my Kindle for about a month. I know. Sad. I traded it in for remolding my kitchen; and that will not be happening again for a VERY long time. So now I’ve hit the 60+ book mark on my reading goal and started going through the books I’ve read this year – these are just a few of my favorites thus far.
The Proposition Series – HM Ward
Blackmail. Sex. Ferro.
His dark hair, bright eyes, and cocky grin look just the way I remembered. The last time I saw Bryan’s Ferro’s beautiful body, he was naked and shimmering with sweat. This time he’s wearing a tux and a wicked smirk that makes my heart beat too fast. It’s been so long since I’ve seen him, the moment feels supercharged.
But, the words that fall out of his mouth aren’t what I expect and shock me to the core. They aren’t light and pleasant, like ex-lovers who decided to part ways. His tone is clipped, and if his jaw locked any tighter, it would crack. He doesn’t care about my personal life, my recent loss, or my boyfriend.
Bryan makes his intentions clear—if I don’t sleep with him, he’ll ruin me.
One of my favorite HM Ward Series thus far. The series just concluded with book 5 – and I’ll miss Bryan and Hallie but there’s always hope that we’ll get another glimpse into this world as HM Ward continues on with her other Ferro boys.
Maybe Someday – Colleen Hoover
At twenty-two years old, aspiring musician Sydney Blake has a great life: She’s in college, working a steady job, in love with her wonderful boyfriend, Hunter, and rooming with her good friend, Tori. But everything changes when she discovers Hunter cheating on her with Tori—and she is left trying to decide what to do next.
Sydney becomes captivated by her mysterious neighbor, Ridge Lawson. She can’t take her eyes off him or stop listening to the daily guitar playing he does out on his balcony. She can feel the harmony and vibrations in his music. And there’s something about Sydney that Ridge can’t ignore, either: He seems to have finally found his muse. When their inevitable encounter happens, they soon find themselves needing each other in more ways than one…
From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance—and the enchanting music that inspires one young woman to put her life back together.

This book goes into my all times favorites – I suffered a horrific book hangover from this story that left me not wanting to touch my Kindle for over a month. My husband was even worried. The only story I wanted to read was this – I read it about five times, right in a row. I got the audiobook and my co-workers now know the entire story of Ridge & Sidney. I became a little more than obsessed. There was just something about this story that struck a cord with me and still hasn’t quite left ….
Songs of Corruption & Songs of Perdition – C.D. Reiss
Spin: Songs of Corruption Book 1
Mafia capo, Antonio Spinelli blew through my orderly life like a cyclone.
Gorgeous and passionate, with a breathtaking brutality, he put me under his spell the moment he touched me, drawing me into his underworld of risk, violence and betrayal.
And I found, just as this sophisticated savage didn’t trust me, I didn’t trust myself. Something happened to me. Some alchemy from the heat between us.
I discovered I was a savage, too.

CD Reiss brings us yet another series where the chemistry between her characters leaps off the pages and leaves you BEGGING for more! Ms. Theresa Drazen and Antonio Spinelli bring you lots of drama – suspense and some of the hottest seduction I’ve ever read. Book 2: Ruin is out October 7th!
And yes, she gets two in this list – because her Songs of Perdition series though, very different – is equally amazing.
Kick: Book 1 Songs of Perdition
Fiona Drazen, sex addict, submissive slave, celebutante, trapped in a mental ward until Dr. Elliot Chapman can help her remember why she’s there. But once she does, she might not want to go home to the Master she tried to kill.
***This is the first of a serial. It’s about 120 pages and ends in a cliffhanger, because that’s how I roll. There’s also a ton of drug use, and educated men who like dirty sex, because that’s also how I roll***

This is a story of epic confusion – mystery and intense sexual need.
Use: Book 2 Songs of Perdition
In the end, did I stab him to be free of him? And free to what? Fuck? Snort? Party? Or free to be normal?
It was a very interesting situation, up there on Maundy,” Elliot said.
“Nothing like it in the world. It’s a safe place for people like me.”
“People like you? Can you be more specific?” He ran his finger on the edge of his blotter, and a chill went up my inner thighs.
“People like me means, I don’t know. Fuckers. We fuck because it’s what we do. Bus drivers drive. Accountants account. Policemen police. I’m a fucker. I fuck.”
Fiona Drazen just might be my favorite – she’s so screwed up you can’t help but love her brutal honesty about everything that’s going on in her head. And the situation she is in – not only with Master Decon but also with Dr. Elliot Chapman …. this series it brutal, hot-as-fuck and as always with CD Reiss’s books, leaves you wanting more and more and more!
Sweet Filthy Boy – Christina Lauren
One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him.
But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation—and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out—Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume—her sweet, filthy fling—to France for the summer and just…play.
When feelings begin to develop behind the provocative roles they take on, and their temporary masquerade adventures begin to feel real, Mia will have to decide if she belongs in the life she left because it was all wrong, or in the strange new one that seems worlds away.

Christina – Lauren two of my absolute favorite authors – every book they’ve written in the Beautiful Bastard series are my favorites. Funny, sexy as hell and the Wild Season’s Series? It starts off with Sweet Filthy Boy – it did not disappoint. You will fall in love with Ansel just as we did with Bennett, Max and Will.
Breakable – Tammara Webber
He was lost and alone. Then he found her.
And the future seemed more fragile than ever.
As a child, Landon Lucas Maxfield believed his life was perfect and looked forward to a future filled with promise — until tragedy tore his family apart and made him doubt everything he ever believed.
All he wanted was to leave the past behind. When he met Jacqueline Wallace, his desire to be everything she needed came so easy…
As easy as it could be for a man who learned that the soul is breakable and that everything you hoped for could be ripped away in a heartbeat.
It seemed like forever I was waiting for this book – Lucas’s POV from Easy.
You can read my 5+++ Review of Easy………… HERE
I’ve yet to review this book – there was so much packed into it from Lucas’s POV. Everything from his past and how it’s shaped his future. It was heart-breakingly beautiful. Everything you loved about Easy is multiplied through this story from Lucas.
Return to Poughkeepsie #2: The Poughkeepsie Brotherhood – Debra Anastasia
Beckett Taylor is a murderer. His calling, his craft are destruction and intimidation—whether he wants it that way now or not. He left Poughkeepsie to keep his brothers safe, to keep Eve safe. Set up with happy lives to live, they’re better off without him, right?
But all his willpower crumbles when he hears his brother Blake’s frantic voice on the phone. An unknown enemy has moved in on his old territory, and Livia’s been taken. In an instant, Beckett knows it will take an attack only he and Eve can execute to bring her back. All his self-imposed embargoes are torn to shreds, perhaps along with the new man he’s struggled to become.
“Brother, call Eve. I’ll be there soon.”
In this emotional and action-packed sequel to Poughkeepsie, Debra Anastasia conjures a tale of love at its most raw and ragged. With Beckett and Eve, how could we expect anything less? But even when it’s messy, not magical, true love perseveres. Real love finds a way—for better or for worse until death does part.
You can read my 5++++ Review ……. HERE
After everything the gang went through in Book 1 – you hope for a respite for them. You have hope for Beckett and Eve, Blake and Livia – and of course Cole and Kyle. Everything that Blake has over come – and the new life he’s starting with Livia, things are looking up and up as they start a family. But as their old lives come back to haunt them things get out of control, and only Beckett can save them…. and hopefully himself along the way.
Flat Out Celeste – Jessica Park
For high-school senior Celeste Watkins, every day is a brutal test of bravery. And Celeste is scared. Alienated because she’s too smart, her speech too affected, her social skills too far outside the norm, she seems to have no choice but to retreat into isolation.
But college could set her free, right? If she can make it through this grueling senior year, then maybe. If she can just find that one person to throw her a lifeline, then maybe, just maybe.
Justin Milano, a college sophomore with his own set of quirks, could be that person to pull her from a world of solitude. To rescue her—that is, if she’ll let him.
Together, they may work. Together, they may save each other. And together they may also save another couple—two people Celeste knows are absolutely, positively flat-out in love.
Whether you were charmed by Celeste in Flat-Out Love or are meeting her for the first time, this book is a joyous celebration of differences, about battling private wars that rage in our heads and in our hearts, and—very much so— this is a story about first love.
You can read my 5++++ Review ………….HERE
I absolutely adore Jessica Park’s Flat-Out Series, but Celeste has always had a special place in my heart. Now, as we delve into her story – as she’s growing up and breaking out of her shell you can’t help but root for her – pray for her – and swoon as she and Justin each find their way in this world on their own – and together.
Rusty Nailed – Alice Clayton
In this sequel to Wallbanger, the second book in the Cocktail series, fan favorites Caroline and Simon negotiate the rollercoaster of their new relationship while house-sitting in San Francisco.
Playing house was never so much fun—or so confusing. With her boss on her honeymoon, Caroline’s working crazy long hours to keep the interior design company running—especially since she’s also the lead designer for the renovation of a gorgeous old hotel on Sausalito. So with her hotshot photographer boyfriend gallivanting all over the world for his job, she and Simon are heavy-duty into “absence makes the heart grow fonder” mode. Neither has any complaints about the great reunion sex, though! Then Simon decides he’s tired of so much travelling, and he’s suddenly home more. A lot more. And wanting Caroline home more, too. Though their friends’ romantic lives provide plenty of welcome distraction, eventually Caroline and Simon have to sort their relationship out. Neither wants “out of sight, out of mind,” but can they create their own happy mid-ground cliché?
You can read my 5+++ Review …… HERE
More Caroline & Simon? And of course, Clive the Cat? YES PLEASE!
Everything you loved about Wallbanger continues on as Simon and Caroline are wading through the infancy of their relationship. Simon is still gone all the time working, and Caroline is crazy busy as her boss is on her honeymoon – leaving Caroline in charge. Alice Clayton is one of the funniest writer’s and one of my absolute favorites. There’s always a lot of woo – a little boo hoo – and as usual, a little meoooow. But never forget, Jordan Catalano, or NKOTB.
Black Lies & End of Innocence Series – Alessandra Torre
Out August 25th 2014!
Became a tech billionaire by his twentieth birthday. Has been in a relationship with me for 3 years.
Has proposed 4 times. Been rejected 4 times.
Cuts grass when he’s not banging housewives. Good with his hands, his mouth, and his cock. Has been pursued relentlessly by me for almost 2 years, whether he knows it or not.
Go ahead. Judge me. You have no idea what my love entails.
If you think you’ve heard this story before, trust me – you haven’t.
There is SOOOOOOOOOOO much truth in the last line of that synopsis. This book I devoured in a matter of hours and now, wish I hadn’t. I’d go back and savor every word.
Alessandra Torre’s best work yet!
And yes, she gets two spots as well because this year, we said goodbye to Mr. Brad DeLuca. And ended one of my favorite series of all time – The Innocence Series.

You want to HATE Brad, but you can’t….. you want Julia to run away and get as far away from his as possible – but you don’t… The series was wrapped up beautifully – flawlessly…. and I will miss these two.
Beautiful Oblivion – Jamie McGuire
The Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster phenomenon continues in the first heart-pounding new adult romance in The Maddox Brothers series.
Fiercely independent Camille “Cami” Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn’t have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with a first weekend off in almost a year.
Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.
Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlor to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.
As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she’ll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever—even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart.
In the first installment of the Maddox Brothers books, readers can experience the rush of reading Beautiful Disaster for the first time, all over again.

I didn’t think there was anything better than Travis & Abby…. WRONG!
Cami & Trenton blew me out of the water and I devoured this book – lost copious amounts of sleep and trudged on to work the next morning with a horrific book-hangover. I can’t wait until we get to dive into Thomas Maddox ….
Well, there you have it – my favorites so far this year – and there are sooooo many more that are coming out in the next three months that I’m looking forward too. What about you? What are your favorites so far this year?
