I adored The Edge of Never – I was hesitant at first, but after so many of my friends on Goodreads were praising it, I had to check it out – and I knew right away why. It’s a road trip of emotions both figuratively and literally. J.A. Redmerski wrote a beautiful story about 2 lost souls trying to find their way back to something…. they’re not even sure what. Andrew is running away from his father – even in the essence that he’s going to him to say his goodbyes. He’s also running away from a secret … even though he knows it’s going to catch up with him.

Camryn is lost as well…. still grieving the loss of her boyfriend, and now her best friend isn’t speaking to her – her mother is alone – and her brother’s in prison. Things are looking pretty bleak in her life when she decides to jump on a Greyhound bus and get the hell out of dodge. She and Andrew meet – a friendship is slow starting, but eventually they embark on one of the funnest and entertaining road trips I’ve ever read about – In the Edge of Always you’ll want to jump in the car with the person that means the most to you – and keep on driving.

When I first heard that the Edge of Never was coming out – I was SOOOOO excited! I pre-ordered and waited patiently (… ok not so patiently) on November 4th hoping and praying I would get it early on my Kindle. I did – but not til 10pm and I was up until 2 in the morning but only about 30% through it. For some reason, and maybe it’s because they’re dealing with a whole new set of emotions and obstacles, I didn’t get the same feeling in this book as I did in the first. I just finished it today at lunch – and I’m embarrassed it’s taken me over a month to finish it. Granted, other books have been read in between then and now – but still embarrassing. I gave it 4 stars because I still love the characters and the way they see things. How they want to be out there experiencing anything and everything that life has to offer. Traveling on a whim and living the dream….

They make me want to quit my jobs – pack up the Mazda and drive all over the country with my husband. But we’d probably make it to about Colorado and want to kill each other (it’s a pretty compact car.) Still, it’s a beautiful thought – and a lovely story.
