Ryan Christensen is the new it boy in Hollywood – having landed the lead role in the VERY popular teen book-turned movie that is being filmed in a small Rhode Island town. The town is being turned upside down as the paparazzi swarms trying to catch a glimpse of Ryan or one of his co-stars on or off the set. When Ryan is walking through town one day, he runs into a bar he thought was open to try and dodge the paps – this is where he meets Taryn Mitchell – bar owner. Taryn is just getting things ready to open when Ryan bursts through the door begging for a way out away from the paps. She takes pity on him and let’s him hide out for a while. They get to talking, and he finds it curious she doesn’t seem to know who he is. Because if he knew Taryn, he’d know that popular movies isn’t really her thing, she doesn’t read tabloids or get into the whole “star” thing. She doesn’t care – and treats him like she would anyone else. He finds it refreshing – and attractive and is drawn to her from the start. She always seems stand offish to him – even though they get along well – they flirt – deep down she feels a connection with him, whether she’ll admit it or not.

Ryan desperately wants away from the glitz and glamor that accompanies being a movie star – he wants his privacy back more than anything. Every move he makes – ever thing he does is plastered all over the tabloids the next day. He can’t tell who he can trust – even his friends or co-stars. It seems as though everyone wants a piece of him; accept Taryn.

Taryn is real – about as real as a girl can get without being a bitch. She treats Ryan like any other guy – but she slowly starts to let him in – when she’s been shut down for quite a while. He has a lot of work ahead of him to get Taryn to trust him – let alone have to deal with his celebrity. Taryan becomes a target for the paps as they swarm outside of her bar after Ryan is seen hanging out inside with some of his co-stars, everyone starts flocking there hoping to get a glimpse of the movie stars. But she takes it day by day – she obviously cares for him, beneath all the Hollywood bullshit – Ryan is just your typical guy who wants to hang out with his friends, his girlfriend and have a normal life – while still being able to do what he loves which is act. But we can’t always have what we want, can we?

Taryn was one of the easiest girls to like – because she didn’t play into the typical bullshit girl attracted to him because of the fame – or his money. She prided herself not accepting his gifts and instead purchasing him gifts with her own money – she owns a bar – her parents have both passed on and she’s done rather well for a girl her age. She doesn’t need or want Ryan’s money. But what she has to ask herself is Ryan worth all the bullshit that comes along with his celebrity? The paps stalking her day and night – her business is doing great – but they’re so overcrowded she’s had to hire more staff. It’s a never ending struggle having to deal with his lifestyle, regardless that he discourages it left and right – they end up having to sneak in and out of the alley way to get away from the paps. But Taryn knew what she was signing up for when they started dating – now she’s just not sure how much more she can handle.

I realllllly enjoyed this series – the books were a bit longer than I was used too – but definitely worth the read!

So… am I to understand that you’re mine”” I asked teasingly.
“I can be yours if you want me to be, Taryn,” he whispered.”

“Do I have to make a poster and scream Ryan, Ryan?” I kidded.
“The only time I want to hear you scream my name is when I’m making love to you. Although you did call me God the other night. That’s acceptable, too.”

“You know what I think? I think you should stop all this non-sense and screw the shit out of him until he passes out from exhaustion…you’ll have to feed him, of course, to keep his energy level up, but make sure you hide his clothes so he can’t get dressed. Men can’t run when they’re naked.”
