~Synopsis~

An ambitious intern. A perfectionist executive. And a whole lot of name calling.

Whip-smart, hardworking, and on her way to an MBA, Chloe Mills has only one problem: her boss, Bennett Ryan. He’s exacting, blunt, inconsiderate – and completely irresistible. A Beautiful Bastard.

Bennett has returned to Chicago from France to take a vital role in his family’s massive media business. He never expected that the assistant who’d been helping him from abroad was the gorgeous, innocently provocative – completely infuriating – creative her now has to see very day. Despite the rumors, he’s never been one for a workplace hookup. But Chloe’s so tempting he’s willing to bend the rules – or outright smash them – if it means he can have her. All over the office.

As their appetites for one another increases to a breaking point, Bennett and Chloe must decide exactly what they’re willing to lose in order to win each other.

REVIEW

There is just something nerve-racking about Mr. Bennett Ryan that leaves a reader either panting, or wanting to hit him in the face with her e-reader. He’s gorgeous – successful – and has a thing for ripping women’s underwear off of them when he’s in the mood…. but he’s also one of the biggest prick’s I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading. Seriously, some of the crap this guy talks to Chloe left me with me shocked and really angry – no one should have to put up with that shit, even if they’re crazy secretly attracted to one another. The sexual chemistry that bounces off these two? Is some of the most entertaining reads I’ve read in a long time. They’re both unbearable smart asses who always have to be right….neither one of them wanting to let go of the control –

(Except perhaps Bennett takes the reins in the bedroom….sometimes.)

Chloe is Bennett assistant – in one of the top marketing firms in Chicago, all the while working for one of the biggest egomaniacs and still trying to finish her MBA. She’s driven and imaginative, and even though some women reading this book would cringe because of what Bennett puts her through, I found that she gave it as good as she got. I didn’t find her weak in the slightest – even when he’s surpassing his fantasy and going into full-blown sexual harassment; pushing her up against the window in the conference room and finally touching her…. ripping the butts from her blouse and getting her off right there. But what does Mills do? Something all of us can cheer her on for? She leaves the Beautiful Bastard hanging with the worse case of blue balls imaginable – because that’s our girl!

These two after finally succumbing to their needs start a fling that will leave you wanting more – in the conference room, in the car – and DEFINITELY in the stair well.

I know this story was originally Twilight Fan Fiction – called The Office, and like most romance novels over the last year has been adapted. Some people are very passionate about leaving these stories alone, wanting to keep the original free for all readers – and get very angry on Goodreads and blogs voicing their opinions. I will say right now I could careless about Fan Fiction and it being updated/re-written and released as a full fledged novel – who cares? More power to the author! What book in the last 50 years isn’t based loosely – or even ripped off some someone else’s story? It’s rare that a true original story comes out these days without being referenced to something else. So as far as I’m concerned the author Christina Lauren did a fantastic job with this series.

The really great thing about the Beautiful Bastard series is even though you’re left wanting more of Chloe and Bennett? Lauren gives you an ending – there’s no cliff hanger, you know where the couple stands …..but we’re always wanting more of the characters we love aren’t we?

Thank god for Beautiful Bitch!

About the Authors, Christina Hobbs & Lauren Billings

christina lauren

Lauren Billings (but everyone calls her Lo) has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and before she made writing her full-time job, would spend her days doing nerdy research – type things wearing a lab coat and goggles. She is silly Mommy to two littles, wife to one mountain biking homebrewing scientist, bestie to a shoe-stealer, and an unabashed lover of YA and romance.

Christina Hobbs (but you’ll always her Lo call her PQ) used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. These days you’ll find her on Tumblr. She is married and absolutely not old enough to be the mom of a 14 year old (right??), think she’s the luckiest person in the world to write books with her best friend, and is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter. She also likes to steal Lo’s shoes.

You can follow their shenanigans at: @lolashoes (Lauren) &@seeCwrite (Christina) on Twitter. On Tumblr! where we post kissing gifs and writerly stuff and Wattpad for short stories and sneak peaks!
